I just changed my phone and my monthly Tab contribution went from 10% to 15%. This is great but since I'm still on a $25 plan, it will take ~3.5 years to pay for the full $150. But I get this message next to my Tab "Koodo guarantees that your Tab balance will be 0 after 24 months. That means you can upgrade to a new phone and take a full Tab balance after 2 years!"

So will they reset my balance after 2 years even if it's not at $0?

Hi Pinesapple,

Just to let you know, if you decide to upgrade your Koodo phone next time and you still owe a balance on your Koodo Tab, you will have to pay that one first in store or on your next bill. This only applies if you are still under 24 months or if you have a negative tab balance.

Have fun with your new phone :)

Hi Erwin,

This only applies if you are still under 24 months or if you have a negative tab balance

Did you mean "AND you have a negative balance"? If I want to change my phone after, say, 25 months and still have a negative TAB balance, do I have to pay? If so then the 24 months guarantee means nothing at all.

I think what he's trying to say is if you want a new phone before the 24 months are up (that would be the only time you have a negative balance) then you would have to pay.

Or basically he was saying if you have 24 months left you have to pay but then simplified it with the or to if you have a negative tab (because after 24 months it's gone).

You get the jist of it by asking if he meant and, he was just giving two different ways of looking at it.

This is very confusing for me to read, so I thought I would word it another way.

If you decide to purchase another phone on a tab before the balance is reset after 2 years, your 2 year tab clearing time will restart to 2 years for your recently purchased phone.
If you purchase this second phone outright without going through the tab, if it has not been 2 years yet, then the clearing time will not restart
