Well, people are getting upset at the plans you can get in Saskatchewan and Manitoba. Introducing yet another "special" deal won't make people outside of tbay like koodo.

Yeah, after the great plan that was offered in Saskatchewan and Manitoba due to competitive reasons, people outside of that area were pretty upset that it wasn't offered to everyone in Canada.

I think Koodo will think again before offering such promotional deals to a certain area only.

I don't recommend, like, nor support this idea. I get my opinions too and it's already not fair to have the MB/SK plans and just adding one more "AREA" and making a special plan for them is unfair for everyone else. Just my 2 cents.

Fully agree with Ahmad. Thunder Bay residents have the option of going to Tbaytel. The rest of us do not.

That package, Linda, is for new customers or upgrades only. I tried to get that plan even as a retention offer when it first came out and was declined.

@Ahmad...hit the nail right on the head :)

we can beat tbaytel, without that plan, we just need the towers, once theres coverage outside of tbay, were gonna have allot of people who are with tbaytel coming to koodo. :) .

Koodo prides itself on being fair, open and keeping costs low, thus any time special plans are offered they are not necessarily being fair to all customers. However, sometimes they do offer plans for specific areas to compete with local competition.

Although I think offering competitive plans in Thunder Bay would be great I can see why they might not.

I being myself from Northern Ontario also probably think this is a business decision. Due to low coverage and Tbay Tel having a huge monopoly in Northern Ontario I don't think it's a priority as this point for koodo to expand here. Once they dominate the more rural areas this means $$$ and expansion. Once at that point I can see them expanding everywhere.

But I agree Tbay tel has a crazy $50 unlimited LD and 6GB of data nothing comparible to PP's with Koodo. Maybe they don't see Northern Ontario as much of a market?

At the moment, the only coverage koodo has between Sault Ste. Marie and the MB border is in Thunder bay. It's not that they don't see Northern Ontario as a market, but the potential increase in just Thunder bay isn't really worth the effort right now. As TeaBird said, once the coverage expands I expect there may be some direct competition between koodo and tbaytel, but not before.

Unfortunately, you cannot get that plan unless you are a new or upgrading customer...
