I'm part of Kytephone, a Toronto-based startup, that offers a free app for Android lets kids use a smartphone safely. Kytephone runs on any Android smartphone (including the low-cost & older models) and allows parents to manage their child's phone remotely. You can learn more at

Parents would love to know that they can now safely give a smartphone to their kids.

Let Koodo know that you are interested in this type of app, we'd love to let all Koodo customers know about it.

Thanks for asking the question. You are right, there are a few parental apps available but none offer the full end-to-end solution that Kytephone offers. It's a mobile device management platform for parents with younger children (7 - 14 years), allowing them to manage the child's phone (& its interface) remotely.

They can see their location, set time limits, and manage their apps & contact list, all in real time. None of the other parental control apps offer that. You don't have to believe me though, try it out. It's completely free to use.

These young kids want their own smartphones but their parents are concerned about *how* they use it. With Kytephone, they don't have to worry anymore. It's designed to be the child's first smartphone.

Yeah I did, I'd like more folks to take a look. Your feedback (even if negative) is still appreciated so we can improve our product. Ultimately, we want parents let their kids have a smartphone without having to worry. The other apps aren't as feature rich or easy-to-use.
