When customers come in and they find out that they could be paying $25 and get more than what they are currently getting by paying $30.

Didn't one time they had a promotion on for double the minutes and double the data, they upgraded everyone that had the previous plans (same price, but with the normal minutes and data)?

Can't remember if they did it with the doubled plans, but I know they were doing it around christmas when the price of the one plan kept dropping. Big nuisance because the automated switch took anybody with an unlocked blackberry and switched them to the non-bb version since it assumed they were on android.

nevertheless Koodo is sending emails or SMS to selected customers regarding new changes or upgrades, like that email I received where Koodo advised me of the "voice Plan" to "Data Plan upgrade" campaign. Following tha email notification I could change my son's plan from voice to Data Plan, thing that made him happy.

Customers, in my opinion, should be responsible for keeping up with current plans and promotions. Thats how I make sure I have the best plan. I dont and wouldnt expect Koodo to send me a text everytime there's a better plan even though thats highly unlikely because there are just way too many variables to consider, including the needs of a customer that no computer program can guess

I think Dennis has the better slant on this, however the occasional reminder of new plan featuers and/or better value is useful, but the person should have some OPT out text feature.

This might be ok if it doesnt get abused and turns into a wide spread text - marketing thing. Sometimes a better plan might be slightly different and if Koodo continues to send texts to some customers it might annoy them.

I also remember that last Christmas time when Koodo had that rivalry with Fido that Koodo kept updating their plans to match every few weeks.

The result was my mom receiving a text that she now has gotten an additional 50 minutes for free. That was a nice way to do it I think.

I agree. Just because they have new plans it doesn't always mean that it's great for everyone. People should look after their own affairs.

Koodo actually DOES send texts to inform customers of new plans, emails too. It's just that Koodo das so many customers that they can't possibly inform everyone.

You're right Curtules. Koodo occasionally sends out texts and emails about new plans and limited offers but it's best to check Koodo's website regularly or maybe even like Koodo's Facebook page as they do announce all of their important announcements there!
