So, I don't always get texts that people send me so they have to send it more than once and it can take a few attempts to work sometimes. I'm pretty sure it's either my phone or service because it happens with almost everyone I text. What should I do?

do all of your text go through?
Does the people whose text aren't received use iphones as well?
When the text do come through are they green or blue?

Yes all of mine go through.
Yes they all do use iPhones.
I'm pretty sure I get all iMessages (blue) it's just texts (green) that give me an issue

Hmm, I would say check to make sure "send as SMS" is turned on for your device and for your friend that are having the issue with you.

Settings→Messaging →Look for "Send as SMS' and turn it on

That is on, I've even tried turning it off and then back on again a few times

Have you changed your number recently?

iMessages is based on the phone number you have.
You can try to Turn off imessages and turn it back on.

1. Settings > Messages > Turn off imessage.
2. Then go to Settings > General > Reset > Reset network settings (All wifi passwords will be removed)
3. Then, go back to settings > Messages > Turn on iMessage.

Should work now.

I just got this phone just under 2 months ago.
My iMessage works fine, it's my texting that is the problem.

You could try calling into tech support, sometimes they have to reset/clear some things on their end.

That we woould. There's a few tools we use to do this. As long as the customers call from a different line, shouldn't take more than a couple minutes.

Alright I'll definitely call in then! Thanks!
I am having what sounds like the same issue- if I power down my phone, I do not receive any SMS text messages that were sent to me when the phone was off. They do not appear even when the phone is powered back up.
