Not receiving OTP texts

Hi, I'm not receiving OTP (One time passcodes) from my UK bank to my Canadian Koodoo mobile number. I've checked with the bank, and they have confirmed they are being sent, but suggest that the phone service provider (Koodoo) may be blocking them as 'marketing texts'. I'm able to send and receive other texts (though admittedly, to and from Canadian mobile numbers). I have an iPhone 5s on a monthly plan - I've tried rebooting the phone and checked there's no numbers blocked on the phone. What can I do? Any help will be appreciated.

I am pretty sure Koodo has to add short codes manually to the approved list. For example when some services introduced 2 factor authorisation through text, it took a few weeks for the number to be approved.

I'm not sure if they are willing to add numbers from banks abroad so you might be out of luck... unless you have another number you can receive texts on. 

Do you happen to know the shortcode number the UK bank uses?

Only thing I can think of is trying the sim in a different phone, or trying with your UK bank to text the OTP to a different Canadian number (perhaps a trusted family member's phone number).
