That's actually because WIND's S6 Edge doesn't have the LTE band that Rogers, Bell, Telus and their subsidiaries use. You can only get 3G on Koodo (and every other big network/subsidiary) with a WIND S6 Edge.

I recommend returning it and purchasing one from one of the Big 3 or their subsidiaries if you can

If for some reason you can't return the phone, the only other way is to flash Koodo firmware onto your S6 Edge. The internals of both the WIND and Koodo's S6 Edge are identical, they both have the exact same model number, SM-G925W8. You simply need the correct firmware in order to access LTE.

Provided you haven't made any modifications to your phone, (custom ROMs or recoveries), flashing a stock firmware image will not void the phones' warranty. However, I have to throw in the disclaimer stating that you assume all risk in doing so.

If you follow the instructions to the letter, you shouldn't run into difficulty. SamMobile is a site that caters to firmware images for Samsung devices, (link below). Select the latest firmware image and download it to your computer. On the download page, scroll down to the heading 'Instructions'. From here, you can get the firmware flash utility Odin by clicking on the link.

Before you begin, make sure the phones' battery has at least an 80% charge or better. The flashing/writing process will wipe the contents of your phone. Backup anything you want to keep to cloud storage or your computer. Ensure that you have an active Gmail account so that apps and contact info is restored after the phone reboots and starts the setup phase. Go to: Settings > Backup and reset to verify.

To enter into download/Odin mode: Power off the phone completely. Press and hold the button combination; volume down + home + power in that order. When you feel the phone vibrate, quickly release the power button, but keep the volume down and home buttons pressed until you see the download mode screen appear. Press the volume up button to proceed to download mode. At this point, you can connect your phone via usb cable to your computer.

Note: This workaround will only work with Windows-based computers. Unfortunately, I have very little experience with Heimdall and the Mac OS platform.

Lastly, if you don't want to go through all of this technical stuff, Ahmad's suggestion might be the better option or perhaps sell the phone on Kijiji. Keep us posted.

Sorry for the late reply...thanks again for looking into this for me.

I'm just looking into this now and found out that I can't even connect my S6 Edge to my computer even after I downloaded Smart Switch on my computer. Now I have 2 issues with this phone already. I'm guessing I'm going to need to fix the connectivity issue before installing the new firmware?

If you have / had an older version of Samsung KIES or earlier versions of Smart Switch, you need to uninstall the old software and reinstall the latest version of Smartswitch.

I had installed Smartswitch over KIES, as directed by the software when I first connected my S6edge, but learned I had to re-download KIES to find the un-installer, run it, then re-install Smartswitch.  Worked fine since then.  I did a web search with the actual error code wording and found a site that explained stepwise how to fix the issue. D'ya think I can find it today?

Just tried it...didn't have KIES earlier so I just deleted Smart Switch and re-installed the latest version on my phone. Unfortunately it still doesn't work.

It just doesn't make sense how sometimes I actually see my phone's folder showing under My Computer sometimes...but it would at most show up for 1 minute and then disappear.

Thought of another option for the lack of 4G connectivity. Dial *#*#4636#*#* and tap on 'Phone information'. Scroll down to and tap 'Set preferred network type' scroll through the list and locate network mode 'GSM/WCDMA/LTE auto'. Tap the new network mode to select it. Do not reboot your phone.

As for the usb connectivity issue, if you haven't already done so, try enabling Developer mode by going into Settings > About device or phone and look for the firmware build number. Tap the the build number area seven times to become a developer. Go back to Settings, scroll down to and tap Developer options and enable usb debugging. See if the phone is now detected using this method.
