I just bought the Nexus 4, and when I receive a SMS, there is no like "1" or "2" on the message icon. Can I make that appear? Also, I don't receive notification on the screen. It just ring. Can I receive a notification just like the iphone does? Thanks

You can make that appear several ways.
Here's my preferred way though--> http://community.koodomobile.com/kood...

That will get icons working for all your Apps, not just SMS.

If you want popups, there are several options.
Personally I use NotifierPro--> https://play.google.com/store/apps/de...
But that Dev has lots of Notification Apps so you should check out some of the free versions to see which best suits your needs.

Maybe you were not trying to do it, but I laughed.

So where exactly is this Touchwiz located in the phone? Because I'm not seeing it.

Myke - TouchWiz is the name of Samsung's UI like "Sense" is the name of HTC's UI.

Note that "stock" refers to the "built-in" Samsung Apps, not the stock "Android" Apps that're "built-in" on Nexus devices

Anyhow, really this isn't needed (unless you really want to see it for yourself) as the problem/question has already been resolved.
Lets please all move on ... I'm getting tired of email Notifications for this thread, LoL.

Yeah, I wanted to see for myself so then this doesn't happen again.

If you're using the stock messaging app, you would get a envelope notification in the notification bar at the top of the phone.

Not enough? You simply get a notification of a new sms. How is that not enough?

The way stock Android tracks Notifications isn't enough for me either ... not even close!

I use (perhaps a bit too many) several different Apps to get Notifications in different but distinct ways:

For only very few specific Apps...
-FlashMe: Blinks the Camera Flash

For my "main" 10 or so Apps...
-Floating Notifications: Gives me "Chat Head"-like Notifications
-NiLS: Displays Notifications atop Cover lockscreen
-Notification Center for Pebble: Allows me to read Notifications on my Pebble
-Notification Check: Vibrates when I manually turn my phone's screen on if I have Pending Notifications
-NotifierPro: Windows Phone style Notifications
-Pebble Instant: Displays an icon for Pending Notifications on my Pebble
-ReadItToMe: Reads me my Notifications when headset is plugged in

For all my Apps...
-MissedIt: Badge Notifications (# count) on the icons themselves
-LighFlow: Controls the LED/Vibrate/Sound Notifications

What will be good for me are Nils and MissedIt. Thanks for your support

On the Nexus 4, you get a sound notification upon receiving the SMS. Afterwards, your notification LED will pulsate slowly.

Or for better LED/Sound/Vibration/Camera Flash/Reminder Notification control, there's LightFlow--> https://play.google.com/store/apps/de...
