Last time I was in the US, Phoenix AZ I could not use my phone anywhere. Is it a Koodo problem or is there a system problem ? I was there from Oct 11 to the 28...tried ten different times and got no service.

It's definitely not a koodo problem, as long as you are not on a prepaid plan.

Koodo like all Canadian cellphone companies provide their own coverage in Canada. Once in the US they rely on various American companies to provide you with service. AT&T, tmobile, verizon etc. Depending on where you are they may or may not have coverage.

Phoenix is a big place. I couldn't get service anywhere in the valley. It would not connect to the local provider which I believe would have been AT&T.

I wasn't on a prepaid plan but that shouldn't make a difference as I have called from there before without a prepaid plan.

Might the phone be set to stay on th Koodo network, rather than automatically choosing a local network?

Was your phone "searching for service" at all? Or it just said "No service"?

I'd suggest to put your phone on airplane/flight mode and back. Another alternative would be to pull your SIM and battery. Other than that I'm all out of suggestions. :-)
