After porting over from Public Mobile, I now have no service. Didnt receive porting text from Koodo either.
When trying my old PM sim, there is signal but calls/texts dont go through. Pop in Koodo sim, no service.
I now have no service at all on my phone, very frustrating.

Hi Thao,
How did you port to Koodo? at kiosk, or online? Did you receive an email from Koodo to setup your selfserve yet? If you can access to Koodo selfserve, what did it say?

I would try to put the Koodo SIM in,  reset the network settings (Settings --> General --> Reset --> reset network settings) you might want to restart the phone also. Hopefully some reset might work.

I ported at Walmart wireless store. And yes I successfully set up and access the Koodo selfserve.
Network settings reset was done, phone restart was done. Still yet struggle. No service on Koodo sim, calls/texts do not go through on PM sim. Absolutely no service at all.

Number in selfserve is active.
I just contact Koodo and they said the port was completed but there is error with the phone number in the database so and they create a ticket for this issue, could take up to 48 hours.

Im so upset and disappointed at Koodo. 3 days with no phone service, and the Kood rep said its not a big deal for no service for a couple days because i can always connect to wifi... so rude...

Did the agent really say "not a big deal?? in which context? it was strange to see someone said so.

It might not take up to 48 hours. They normally give out the worst scenario. Koodo was flooded with PM migration customers, and that properly was the reason of the number database. I would check your Koodo number every few hours and see if it works.

The agent didnt say “not a big deal” directly. He said “you can always connect to wifi”, I said “I need phone service for family to call me”. He just ignored what I said and continue talking about the wifi thing “well there is wifi in the restaurants” after I said “there is no wifi outside of home”.

So yeah, people shouldnt sign up for any phone service because “there is wifi” then!

I think there was some misunderstanding between you and him/her. I would let it go.If you don't want to, you could call and complain but I don't think it will go anywhere.

There is always a risk of network/number loss with porting. As you activated the SIM at the Wallmart, Wallmart people should have checked everything before they gave you the SIM. They shouldn't have left you with an inactive SIM.

Anyway, Koodo and PM are using the same network, I think it will be quick in your case.

Speaking of which, you can opt for a VoIP service that gives you a number for free. It's not a proper solution but it gives you something to be reached by and make phone calls out to until then via WiFi until this gets settled.
