No more unlimited minutes plans?

I've been with koodo for 8 years now.  I currently have an unlimited canada wide plan with 1 gig of data.  I'm always on the lookout for a new plan promotion as I would love to up my data a little bit.  I travel across canada a lot for work so the unlimited canada wide is a must for me.

Anyway, I just took a look at the current plans and I see that none of them offer the unlimited minutes anymore, unless you go into the tab large plans.  I have a tab small and the only unlimited minutes option is the $45 a month plan with no data.

So has koodo dropped the unlimited minutes plans?  Or are they just going through a kind of plan transition or something?  I can say though that if those plans are gone, then that is a terrible decision as it is one of the main draws to the koodo plans.  I know I have brought a number of friends over thanks largely to the canada wide unlimited plans.

Most of the plans are unlimited minutes. I think you're reading it wrong.

Koodo had a $45 unlimited min, 2GB plan for about the past month.

My daughter got this plan and now I need it as my circumstances have changed.  I am long time customer.  Can I get this plan?

You can get any in market plan, once plans are gone they're gone so grab em while you can.

As the OP states the plans have changed and the plan your daughter has isnt available anymore. Being a long time customer I think your best bet is to call them and ask for the same plan. Im sure they will do something for you.

Can't make everyone happy, most have been claiming about not having enough data and that they barely use any minutes so could be leaning towards pleasing the majority of ppl over the few.

Keep in mind you can add unlimited minutes Canada wide to the new plans for just $5 / month on plans of 1gb or more

Hmm, I see now what they did, they made the unlimited calling an "add on" item.  They didn't add in more data though.  For about 2 months (around Christmas) they offered the same plan pricing as now with a "bonus" extra gig of data or whatever.  So all they've done is to keep the data the same as that promo and increase the plan price by $5 a month (for unlimited calling).  The plans don't add any new data that wasn't offered before.

If customers wanted more data in the plans, then the better option would have been to offer data add ons.  Right now there is no way to add data to your account and you're only option is to use the terrible $7/100megs when you go over.  Data add ons would have been a very positive addition and appealed to more people.  I know I would love to be able to increase my data for a month or 2 at a time as needed, and then let it go back to normal after without having to change my entire plan every time.  I think Koodo would make more money from a service like that, keep it's customer base happy and keep people flocking over to its service.

All in all I would say this was not a good move.  Even if I was solely looking for plans with more data, I would not be pleased by these changes.

@arringfray:
When you reach your data limit, Koodo data will stop (if you set it up properly). You could choose to use $7/100Mb if you would like. They could sometimes offer extra 1GB for $15-20. Koodo allows you to change your plan once per billing cycle to adapt your need. Data add-on is somewhat a feature on a prepaid plan. I don't think they do that in postpaid.

I agree, the current rateplans are not attractive, and hopefully some competition will lower the price.

It is strange to see you complaining the new price right after the promotion ended (it ended yesterday). It was $45 2GB unlimited over last 2,3 months. $60 for 6GB was also available last month for new activation or upgrade.

It is for sure not a good move. A new guy must have got in and is trying to change things and try and say this is what the customer wants. I doubt these plans will be around for long. Why would anybody sign with Koodo now with these offers.
