Defective battery like the Iphone 5 maybe ??? Do a google search for any samsung battery recalls...if there are none for S3 then call or message, tweet or e-mail Samsung Canada with details on the issue

I'm not sure what the iPhone 5 has to do with her Samsung Galaxy S3. In any case, if her S3 was purchased through Koodo then she has the option of having Koodo send the phone to Samsung instead of contacting them directly and shipping it to them at her expense.

I see. In any case, OP's phone should be under warranty, whereas the iPhone 5 units in question would be out of warranty right now.

Sounds like it may be a warranty issue. Fortunately, as you've had the phone for less than a year, this should be covered. Please contact Koodo to set up a warranty repair.

It's 611 from your Koodo mobile phone or:

If you haven't already, try restarting your phone (i.e. shut it off and on). Sometimes apps can have rogue processes that will run in the background and eat up your battery without you knowing. Otherwise this may be a hardware issue.

I want to thank everyone that replied to my email for help. I did restart my phone and also downloaded a new update. I recharged my phone yesterday morning and it has been great my battery is at 50 % and I used it like I usually do. Thanks again
