The Nexus 5 is now listed on google play store for 350$ now on the 16gb version which I believe is the same one offered through koodo when can we see a price reduction as I would like to get one through koodo on a tab asap... The 32GB version is only 400$ as well.

Doubt a price drop is going to happen anytime soon. Hard to say. Keep an eye open on the site.

We've had this argument before. Koodo is selling this phone at much the same price as every other provider in Canada. They charge more than Google because they have additional overhead that Google does not. They have the right to sell the phone at any price they choose, just like you have the right to buy the phone anywhere you choose. Bottom line, if it's cheaper from Google, feel free to buy it from Google.

oh I plan on it but just curious if this would be price dropped so we can get this on a tab otherwise whats the point of even getting it through koodo whatsoever pay the same price and save 10% on your bill or get it through koodo and have a 150$ tab plus pay 350$? what would you consider.

It won't happen until a newer device comes out...

Buy from google directly so you own it. Also, assuming if your tab is sitting at 0 you'd be eligible for 10% off your monthly bill. So you can go eighther or with this so the ball is pretty much in your court.

Doubtful. It's no different then shopping at another store for the same product with store B selling that product at a cheaper price. If you don't agree with the pricing you can always purchase it elsewhere.

[...] koodo would hopefully do something about it.

There isn't anything to do about this Dustin. Just like grocery shopping, when you see something advertised for cheaper at another place, you go to said place and purchase there to reward the seller with your money, simple as that.

I don't know any better than anyone else here why it's priced the way it is though. The N5 is selling at a higher price than the Play Store while the N4 used to sell for cheaper, go figure.

In any case though, pick up a 32 gigger from Google and enjoy the savings!

The reason more ppl don't go buy it from Google Play is the exact reason you haven't just went and bought it from Google which is because they can't or don't want to pay for the phone up front and they want to place it on the tab or contract (other carriers) and as such will pay a higher price to save a little out of pocket at point of purchase. This isn't the best way to buy as it costs you more in the end in a lot of cases but Canadians have seem to have grown a custom to the credit card syndrome of getting something right now and worrying about paying for it later.

For what it's worth........ I've purchased my last three phones on eBay for substantially less than what the retailers list them for. The "catch" is to purchase an "unlocked" phone.

Ok, Granted the carrier overhead is certainly an issue, but, why is it that Koodo isn't even offering the 32GB edition of the Nexus 5?  given that there's no external storage the more internal storage would be welcome considering the nature of our digital lifestyle?  I would consider a $450 price point reasonable considering koodo is $50 more for the 16Gb edition.
