I noticed this afternoon (Friday, June 6, 2014) that my Nexus 5 phone's battery was very low and that I not only could not connect at LTE speeds but 3G was dropping out as well. Is there a network issue in St. John's Metro this afternoon?

Well if your battery is very low, your connection will suffer a bit as your phone tries to stay on.

Have you gotten a chance to charge it yet?

It is charging now but I still do not have LTE and I usually get LTE in my location. Right now I am only getting 3G...

Wait until it's fully charged for now, LTE requires a lot more battery life than a 3G connection. Also make sure your network mode is set to include LTE.

Settings > more networks > mobile networks > network mode > make sure it's set to GSM/WCDMA/LTE.
