nexus 4 random shut down

my phone phone has randomly shut down .a few minutes later it will do the same i have a done a reset but nothing changed then last night while charging my phone gets really hot at the charge port and starts melting i unplugged it but not i cant get the put the charger cord in so i cna t charge my phone

If the phone is less than a year old, I'd advise you to contact customer service to set up a warranty repair.

That's definitely not normal at all for the Nexus 4 or any phone for that matter. Bring it to your local kiosk and they can send it away for repair. If it's within the one year warranty period then the repair may be done free of charge if it's found to be a manufacturing defect. If it's past the one year warranty period or its found to be physical damage caused by the user then you will have to pay for the repair, but they will get a estimate before work is done and see if you wish to fix it from there or not
