We will only have the 16gb version due to its popularity. That said here are some way to carry around more stuff: https://recombu.com/mobile/article/how-to-add-extra-storage-to-nexus-5x-nexus-6p-memory-card

The 5X isn't quite a high end phone but it's close. 16GB should be fine for most users who take it. But if not, I recommend just using the extra money to take the 6P instead. It's a larger phone, sure, but it's got the better display, speakers, battery life, metal design, and comes with 32GB storage you're looking for.

It's a much, much larger phone. I would not recommend ordering it without seeing it in person.

I find it really annoying that companies are ditching on the SD slot (or limiting to 32GB SD). Especially when they are such a cheap alternative to using a NAS or selling off your first born to afford obscene data rates to stream everything. I ditch all the apps and just use my phone as a phone and mp3 player and 16GB isnt even close to enough for me. Even with 8GB on board and a 32GB SD Ive only got a few GB left on my phone.

Nexus phones will never have an SD card so never hope on that as its not fast enough storage for Google's liking, it affects the performance of the device so they will never have expandable storage on a Nexus device they've stated. Most companies still offer SD card storage expansion however such as HTC, Motorola, LG and Samsung with exception of the S6 and note 5 but will return for the S7 according to rumours

Fair enough, it is indeed quite a bit larger. But if you can get used to it, it's great.
