last night i downloaded the newest update for lollipop onto my Nexus 5. since then my phone has pretty much had a mind of its own! it shuts down when ever it feels like it. Then once off it wont turn back on with out screwing around with it. when it does turn on it has to optimize the apps. if i turn the screen off it shuts the phone down. i factory reset the phone in the settings and it didnt help. the phone worked A+ since i bought it in June. first time its ever screwed up like this.

Hi Tyler,

Since a factory reset hasn't solved the issue, your best bet would be to attempt warranty service on your Nexus 5. Considering you got it in June, it's still within the 1-year warranty. ( Just take your phone to a Koodo shop to let a rep take a look, then we'll take it from there.

If you see a good answer, give it a star.

DID you update from the device or did you flash the OTA files for the new 5.1 update by connecting it to your PC?

Yup, sounds like software not hardware.....

The other option would be to downgrade to a previous and stable version of Android. I'm reading numerous complaints about the Nexus 5 and Lollipop. Downgrading to KitKat 4.4.4 (KTU84P) should resolve the issues you're having with your Nexus 5. Instructions on how to flash a factory image to your device are provided in the link below.

Look for the heading: "hammerhead" for Nexus 5 (GSM/LTE)
