nexus 5 battery or charger issue?

I have had the Nexus 5 for just under three months and while I'm loving this phone, I'm hating the battery.

It kind of slowly started after a month and a half of use and now I can barely use the phone for three hours without plugging it in.

When I plug it in, it actually discharges. This is with the charger that came with the phone. For example, my phone was at 15% and I plugged it in. It said it was charging. I normally only have Wi-Fi on when in use, no GPS, and my eyes are very sensitive so the screen is always as dark as possible. But, when I charge, I put my phone into airplane mode. So...I plugged my phone in at 3pm @15% ...at 8:45pm my phone was at 2%.

I switched to an old charger that only works when I have the cord bent weird, yesterday and it charges almost 1%/minute. So odd.

What should I do? I think I need to either get a replacement battery or charger. I'm just not sure what I need to do. I'm desperately seeking direction, lol.

If it recharges fine with another cord/adapter then obviously it was the original charger's issue. The Nexus 5's battery life isn't the greatest but 3 hours seems awfully low. Make sure you don't have background processes or a poorly coded app eating your battery. Uninstall some recently downloaded apps to see if that improves it.
