Some customers have to get new SIM cards, for example b/c they need a Micro SIM for a new phone.

It would be cool if the fee for a replacement SIM card could be covered through the Tab.

A new sim does not come with the phone if you bring your own. Since the Koodo selection of phones is limited to outdated devices (with the Iphone5 exception where they are contractually obligated to Apple to offer it) this is often the cause of needed a new sim.

Covering it with the Tab seems a little ridiculous, but maybe they can offer the SIM at a little less than 4000% of cost. $2 would give more margin than clothing retailers.

I'd like to see the TAB benefits extended. As someone who uses a "high end" device and buys them outright, I've never been able to use my tab for a phone that I actually want. Instead, I've hit the $150 max 4 times now and I just end up picking whichever phone is in that range and giving them away to friends/family. If the Tab was extended to include accessories as well, I'd at least be able to get an extra battery or charger for myself. Also, increase the Tab limit, $150 really isn't that much, and unless you want a refurbished device or a low end phone, you're always going to be out of pocket. I know virgin has a tab system as well and it doesn't max out at such an insignificant number.

This is a great conversation that's separate from the main topic, so I created a new topic to continue the discussion. Please reference the new topic here: Increase the Tab

It says "implemented". Can we now get replacement (Micro) SIM cards and, instead of forking over $10, have $10 put on the Tab?

I don't see implemented anywhere... I see "under consideration".

It was labelled as "Implemented" but Koodo changed it to "Under Consideration" now.

Ah makes sense I didn't see it earlier today.

My guess is that Koodo is a competitive company, probably he realized that other providers are not giving micro free SIM in case of customers bringing an
unlocked phone - So customers are not paying extra charges, activation is free, account creation is free, no network fees, so what if cx gets free SIM activate it for 2 days and calls in and cancel his acct?

Good point. This is why I suggested the Tab option for SIM cards. I didn't say they should be free. :-)

And: If the Tab option was available only for replacement SIM cards (but not for starter packs) that would be OK with me.

When you don't have a contract or any tab left with Virgin Mobile, they give the sim card for free... but that is the only nice thing I have to say about them.

The thing with this, is that Sim Cars are considered accessories. Accessories cannot be purchased with the tab. Though, I do agree that accessories should be allowed to be purchasable with the Tab.

So now it actually happened to me: My phone was run over by at least on car. While the phone is toast, I could salvage the SIM card. I put it in an old phone for the time benig. But after a few days the SIM card started to behave irratically. "insert SIM card" messages on my phone and on a friends' phone I tested it in.

Well, OK, it got run over by a motor vehicle. I'm not complaining about the failure of the SIM card.

The Koodo shop charged me $9.99 plus $1.50 in tax. They did not allow me to put it on the tab. That would have been nice as it would have saved me the tax and delayed my expense.

The ironc thing being that if you use your tab to pickup a phone, they send you a sim card as well, even though you clearly already have one. I have 5 koodo sims at my house that I have absolutely zero use for.

I have to say that the Koodo service team (hotline) was very nice and they credited me the cost to my bill. Thank you!
