I am trying to buy a new phone and I saw the moto g it says its $150 but on prepaid its $250 but I already have a prepaid account do I still have to pay the $250?

The $150 price is for the monthly (postpaid) plans. If you're on prepaid, the price is $250, unfortunately.

If you have a friend with a postpaid plan, you can have them purchase the phone for you.

Yes, you would have to pay $250 plus a micro SIM if you don't already have one of those.

Wasn't it $200 on prepaid when it first came out? That's quite a jump.

If you have a friend in the US, they can get an unlocked 16GB version of the Moto G for $200.

Or if you have a friend who's with koodo on a monthly plan, have then buy the phone for you at the monthly price and pay them direct.

Or Kijiji/eBay. There's a factory unlocked 16 GB version sold in the US for $200, so you may want to check that out since you're wanting to buy it outright anyway.
