Page 3 of the bill will give you an explanation as to all the charges that adds up to your total. You got a proration charge where your first bill is the first full month plus the part of the start of your service until your billing date. You mentioned ten days so you'd get 40 days of service. I presume this is what the salesperson was talking about. It's possible that they miscalculated the expected charge or you got a tab and they said 90 would be the bill for your plan and the discrepancy is your tab. What does page 3 tell you?

most companies charge for the remainder of the month then add in Aug's bill.  This is the norm .  I would be curious to see why it turned out to be 107?  Did you get a tab and what are you paying per month for your plan plus the tab? Then add in the remainder of July.  If something still seems off, I would give them a call.

plan (July 20th - 31st, and Aug)  plus tab plus tax.....

It's 8 bucks a tab my plan is 65 the part that makes me mad is that am just starting out so that 17 bucks difference may not seem like a lot to some people but it is to me

so it does sound like Aug with your tab plus July 20th and half the tab for the month plus tax.  Sept it should be 65 + 8 + tax.

Like I said most companies do this.  They charge part of the month from when you start using their services then charge you Aug because you're into Aug at that point.

Maybe the sales rep should've explained that part of the tab gets charged as well which brings it up to 93 plus tax which brings it up around 107 a bit better.

I have a feeling he may have said 90 and most of the time its usually before tax.

You do know these plans are before tax?

OK so with tab that's 73. Multiply by 1.33 and then 1.13 for taxes and that sounds about right for a first (prorated) bill. I certainly understand if there's something up with a bill. 17 a month is still cash that could be in my pocket regardless of how much of a difference it may or may not make.

If your bill date is 23rd of the month, then your billing cycle is likely  from 29th of the month to 28th of the next month... You can check your billing cycle through your self serve.

This is a one calculation if your billing cycle is from 29th of the month to 28th:
You bought your phone and plan on the 20th.
Then your first bill included partial charge of service and tab from 20th to 28th(9days) + one month full

$65 plan / 30days x 9 days = $19.5 - partial charge for your plan
$8 tab / 30days x 9 days = $2.34 - partial charge for tab
$19.5 + $2.34 + $65(full plan) + $8(full tab)= $94.84 + tax(if its 13%) = $107.17

You are likely told SO much about your phone & plan at time of purchase that it would be almost impossible to retain it all. That is why places like this where you can ask questions once things have slowed down is so valuable.
