I'm new to Koodo & now I can't make it 1 month with going over my 1G of data, this has NEVER happened to me before why am I burning through data so quickly with Koodo? I don't spend tones of time online & when I do I'm usually connected to my home wifi. The apps I use while not on wifi are minimal and I also do not download anything if I'm not on wifi. I close all programs once I'm done with them so there is nothing running in the backround, and I've just come to realize that I can program my Nexus 5 to to turn off my data once I have used my monthly limit to avoid going over but that will leave me with nothing for the last 5 days of the month. What am I doing wrong??????

Just because you close a program doesn't mean it can't use data in the background.

In settings.. Data usage

You can also disable background data.

Article mentions a number of useful ways to limit your data usage on Android phones.

New phone: by default you may be allowing program updates over your mobile connection. See the above article on how to make sure it's off.
