Hi Kay,

You will need to go with a prepaid plan, simply go to a Koodo kiosk in a mall and purchase a new prepaid SIM card for your phone. 20$, no ID required and you get the 20$ back as an activation credit when you setup your new account online.

Hi Kay! If you want a postpaid SIM card, carriers will do a credit check. Since you are new here and you don't have any credit history, carriers may ask you to deposit $100 before giving you a postpaid deal. $100 will be a credit on your bill. Just bring your passport and study permit to the kiosk.

Hello Kay,

Just to clarify, Koodo does not offer monthly accounts with a deposit.

We may need to apply a $200 Spending Limit on your account after a credit check. However as Mathieu says, you need Canadian ID to activate a monthly account with us. Here's more info on the ID's required:

Hope that helps :)

Best to verify how you expect to pay your bill as well. Some folks have stated that international credit cards (not issued by a Canadian bank) are not easily accepted.

They are easily accepted, international customers wanting to use their international credit card for payment just need to call into Koodo and register their card with Koodo :)
