New SIM card, no service

I have just purchased a new koodo prepaid SIM card to use in my unlicked iPhone 7. I have activated the account online and paid the base plan. Unfortunately I did not receive an activation email from Koodo and my phone is indicating no service. I have tried reseting the network settings and restarting the phone multiple times but it is not helping.
My online account states my plan is fully active and in use, but I can not get service on my phone.

Are you sure the sim Card number was entered correctly? Did the phone work before? Can you test another sim. In your phone or your prepaid sim in another phone?

yes, I activated a new SIM card. The phone is unlocked and I checked here https://www.koodomobile.com/help/finding-your-imei previously if my phone is compatible. The account status says that my card is active, but I have no service. What else could I try?

@Joe, I would restart the phone and reset the network settings also. What phone was it? How do you know the phone was unlocked? the IMEI check (to see if the phone works on Koodo) is not always correct.

It is a Cubot Note Plus. I have used it with three different SIM cards while being in three different countries in Europe and it worked perfectly. I did a reset of the network settings and a reboot of the phone, still no service. It is getting kinda frustrating, but thanks for your help. If you come up with something else, do tell. I would appreciate it.

I would try again in several hours. Also if you have another phone, you could test the sim in it. Koodo is using 3G 850/1900 for basic voice/data(lte band 4) If your phone has those bands, it should get you connected.

Your European Cubot phone does not support all Koodo frequencies: only 1900, and not 850 for 3G, which is the most common..

https://willmyphonework.net/
Some cell towers use both frequencies, and others use only one, sometimes with a combination of other frequencies if the facility is shared with other carriers.
You phone may work partially when you are in areas with a 1900 MhZ tower. Or you could check with a Rogers booth to see if you get service with one of their SIMS on their older 2G network in your area.

What does it say? DO you have service?
