I lost my phone then I went to a koodo dealer and they gave me a new phone with a new number. I would like to change my number to my old number on my new phone. I tried to do it online but it said this number is already in use. Is there a way to get my old number I suspect it is just in use because I just cancelled my other phone today.

HI Kevin,

YIKES you did not need to set up a new account with a new number!! All you needed was a new SIM card, activate that in self service and insert the SIM in your new phone.

I'd recommend you go back to the dealer and explain you already had an account... I'm sure they will understand.

Edit: oh I see you cancelled your old account :( I'm afraid you lost your old number for good, Kevin... what a shame :( I'd still contact Koodo to see if it is not too late to get your old account back though...

They usually keep those cancelled numbers in a pool for awhile, so I would call Koodo as Sophia said and explain them what 's happen. Also you can mention them your account was cancelled today and you(same person) want to regain the number.

That's really not a viable option (to find it in the pool and assign it). The account is still in cancellation and he can take it out of cancellation and resume the account. This is what I would do and just purchase a new phone for that. No need for a new line.
