New phone, Can't use Google Play Music, stutters.

I am reposting this as my previous entry has been closed as answered. I'm still having the problem, and I'm probably running out of time if i am going to return the phone.

As per the previous post, I've attempted a few things, so here's the current status:

OK, I've looked into a few things- I've just been streaming up to now, but i tried downloading some songs and it happens with them as well. In addition to the error message, (error message being "music temporarily unavailable") I've sometimes been getting stuttering once the screen goes to sleep, and sometimes the only thing that happens is that when a song plays through, the next one only goes for 3 seconds before it stops. If I stop and start it again it plays through only to do it again on the next song.

I have 5 GB free space as it's a new phone. Connected to my home wifi. And i can't uninstall the app, only disable it. It must be included with the bundle. Anyway I tried disabling after clearing the data and then restarted. No success. Often when I make a change like this, I get a different symptom as described above.
Finally I've looked at my account and I'm nowhere near my limit for devices. Just for laughs I've removed one of the ones I no longer use, just to rule it out.

Hello Edward.

We'll try and help you out

Have you tried reuploading all your music in Google Play? Maybe they haven't been uploaded correctly? Is your phone set to disable wifi when screen is closed? Maybe that's why the music stops, because you don't have wifi anymore.

Is the Google play music app up to date on the Play store?

Interestingly enough, this has been occuring on my S5 Neo since I had it. I always thought a factory restore would probably solve the issue but never want to do it since I don't want to reinstall my apps afterwards.

A few things to try would be to uninstall all updates from the play store, then update the app again. If that fails, I would recommend a factory reset.

OK, to address all these suggestions one at a time-

I part a monthly unlimited subscription so none of the music is stuff I've uploaded, it's all from their servers.
About wifi disabling on sleep mode- good point, I hadn't realized that was possible. But I figured out how to look for that and it's set to always on.

The app just updated last night, so that isn't it.

As for a factory reset, when I set up my phone i let it do everything automatically from my Google account, so I can see it possibly making errors or not doing something in the right order from that. I'm willing to try a factory reset since i haven't really made any important changes to it yet.

One question-how do you uninstall updates from the play store?

Go in your settings, in applications,  select Google Play Music. Since it's a buit-in app, you will only have the option to uninstall updates.

Would power saving mode be causing this?  Try turning that off

This is definitely something I've been looking into. I'm not very familiar with how it works so I'm not sure if I've done all I can there. There's an app called Smart Manager, and in it I've gone to battery, and then App Power Saving details, and I've turned that off. Is there any other feature that you know of that might be interfering with the music app?

In the Battery screen after going into smart manager, is Power Saving mode and ultra power saving mode off too?

They seem to do that, I have had issues and they have been marked as answered and they are not. I had a phone like that and it had problems I finally had to get a different phone at my expense as they kept getting me to send it in until my warranty expired and then told me there was nothing they could do as my warranty was up both Koodo and Samsung were involved

How did you start that process by the way? I've looked on both Samsung's and koodo's site, and under support, I only find community forums, no actual repair/troubleshooting ticket process.

Yeah I was afraid of that. I have seen a few threads where the person doesn't get a solution too. I've also seen some people with this problem where a simple uninstall/reinstall did the trick. I was hoping I was in the second group.

This site is also for Koodo customers.
Your link is for an iPad support, yet you are asking about phone and Android.  The Baba Support website is not associated with Koodo in anyway
