I just purchased my phone today (iphone 6s) and I am a first time customer with Koodo. I was told by the guy who set it up for me that I would receive a text message within 5 minutes to 2 and a half hours after activation stating I was good to go. I purchased it at 7 pm and was back in my car by 7:50 pm and still no text message. It is now 11:30 pm. I can make calls and text but they can not call me nor respond to my messages. What is going on and how can I fix it?

Hey Amanda, were you trying to port over a number from another carrier?

Did you receive any text message regarding the port-over? normally if it fails, they'll send you a text with a phone number to call. If you haven't, you can call Koodo or private message Koodo in Facebook.

When you port your number, you are given a temporary one. Most likely, you can text and call others because you are using the temporary number but when they try to call or text yours, they wont get through because they are trying to use your "old" number that hasnt been fully ported over yet

When you port a number, the number being ported in is assigned to your koodo line immediately. Changing the routing of calls to koodo instead of the former provider is what takes time. This is why they ask for an alternate contact number when you are porting in, since if the port fails they have no other way of reaching you. You would need to contact koodo to get more information about the problem with the port request. Please do not do so from the phone you are having trouble with, since there is no way they can test whether you are receiving calls while you are speaking on the phone.
