I have paid off my tab and have started accumulating money towards a new phone.
I am interested in switching my current plan of $25 a month to the new $30 a month plan.
If I switch, will I lose the amount of money I have accumulated so far if I decide to get a new phone in the future?

You should be safe, but there should be some type of warning/caution sign when you're changing the plan in Self Serve to tell you this. It's been a while since someone asked this so I'm not 100% sure.

Am I correct that if I switch plans I will no longer accumulate a positive balance though?
Thanks :)

Yes. Changing to a current plan requires accepting the latest tab system. You will no longer accumulate a positive tab but the amount you have will stay for use.

In the future, if I decide to purchase a new phone, and I buy the phone outright, will there be an additional tab charge?
And there is no small tab anymore?

No, there are no Tab charges if you buy a phone outright - you're not subsidizing anything.

There is a small tab option, but now the subsidy is separated from the plans and is based on which device you choose. Koodo no longer contributes anything to your Tab payment each month. It's almost like financing the phone (almost).

think of a tab as an interest free loan from koodos.  $240 for a small, $360 for a med and $504 for a large. take the amount, divide it by 24 months and that's what you pay back each month until it's paid off. BTW switching to a current tab plans from the old plans will let you access lower price plans
