I have an iPhone 6 with Telus on prepaid, it is unlocked and bought out-right from Apple; can I just get a tab + koodo sim card and activate it and use it on my iPhone 6 or do I have to buy a Koodo phone? I am interested in getting the $45 plan that is up on May 3rd. How does it work if I can activate my iPhone with koodo, do I just pay the $45 a month? Is its $45 a month + tax, any hidden fees?

You can bring your unlocked phone to Koodo all you need to do for this is buy a Koodo SIM card and activate on a SIM only plan...no tab for you becuase you're not buying a phone, you're brining your own. So buy the SIM card and activate it with that plan. There aren't any hidden fees, you just pay for you plan, of course, if you go over your minutes and what not, you'll have to pay for those overages when you go over your plans allotments

Hi Ashley,

No need to get a tab as the phone is already paid for! Just head on over to a Koodo retail location where you can select the best plan for you and pay for a Koodo SIM card, insert that SIM card into the phone once activated and away you go!

Hope this helps!

Do I have to sign a contract for that deal of the $45 plan, and is it $45 plus tax? Also how do I pay for the bill, can I do it online?

I think they still need to run a credit check if you sign up with a postpaid/monthly plan.
So bring proper ID when you go to a store.

You pay taxes on everything. :-) So there is tax on the plan. Go to the store they will sign you there, there is a credit check though. No contract means you can leave anytime just pay off what you owe on the phone.

I said the 45$ does not include taxes. Everything has taxes. You pay tax.

You go to your local store with your iPhone, and they will set you up. After that you go over to the self-serve website and sign up online there. You will then be able to set pre-authorized payments online. I have no clue what your prepaid plan is so I would not be able to compare the two. In terms of service Koodo and Telus has the same service, so if you get a good signal now with Telus you will have the same quality with Koodo.

As Mayumi said, you might actually need that credit check due to the postpaid monthly plan thing.

Driver's license works but you need another piece of ID too. That one doesnt need a photo.

No termination fee if you leave if you didn't get a phone through Koodo. And one thing not mentioned is that depending on where you live there might be a 911 fee. This really is a government fee and is determined by the charges based on your province. Most provinces its under $1.00.

Yah I think all companies charge for a 911 fee, even on a home phone here; it might be within the plan but i will find out the full price when i go and get it and find out about it.

HI Ashley, the "Unlimited Evenings & Weekends" feature normally provides unlimited calling anywhere in Canada Friday evening to Monday morning. Since the $45 plan already includes unlimited minutes anytime (24/7) Canada-wide, you're covered :) Welcome to Koodo!

Thank you, what about 1800 or 1866 numbers, are they considered long distance and not included in the unlimited calling?

Long distance is a thing of the past with Koodo! Any calls made or receive in Canada are considered local. With a regular plan, a daytime call to a toll-free number (except to Koodo) would be deducted from the airtime. But with yours, it will be unlimited :)

You can call those numbers without charges if you have an unlimited calling.

If you don't have an unlimited calling, it will use your minutes. But there is no long distance charge.
