New Customer Problem Switching Plans

I'm a brand new customer as of Wednesday. Today (Friday) I see there are much better promo plans than were available on Wednesday, but when I try to switch to them in self-service, it says I can only change plans once a billing cycle. I assume the system is counting my new activation as a "change" in plan. Is there any way to get around this? How long will this promo last? I really don't want to miss out on the $45 promo plan that was posted today. They guy at the kiosk told me I could change plans "any time", so I'm feeling a bit lied to right now.

You change your plans "any time" - once per month  through self serve free.

Your activation count as plan change, that's why you can't change it now.
How many days left on your current bill cycle? You can check it through self serve > Usage
Once it start new billing cycle, you can change it.

If you don't want risking to miss this promo, call Koodo *611 from your koodo phone. 
option 5 for customer service > keep pressing 0 to get a rep
Tell them you just sign up a few days ago, and you want to switch to a new promo plan.
You TRIED through self serve, but system doesn't allow you to switch.
They will help you out.
They usually charge for changing plan, but you are a brand new customer... I would ask them to wave the fee. 
I can't guaranty you if they can, but I'll ask very nicely  :)  
(And they are very helpful most of time)
