Bought a Koodo prepaid sim. Activated it online. Evrything went smooth during the activation process. When I put the sim to my non koodo phone, it can't connect to the mobile network. I'm pretty sure that my phone is unlock and I even used koodo's tool to check that my phone is supported and it's not lost or stolen. I don't know what to do now?
If the phone is locked to another network, you may see the message 'unregistered SIM card, emergency calls only'. If you don't see any messages to that effect, it's safe to assume you have an unlocked phone.
It may take a bit of time for your phone to become active on the network. Power off the phone completely, leave it off for a minute and restart the phone. Verify that Koodo appears in the notification area of the phone.
If that doesn't work, make sure the phone isn't set to 2G, (Settings > Mobile data > Mobile Network settings). In the same area, you should be able to scan for Network operators. There's usually an option to scan for network operators automatically, or you can manually search for the correct network. Select Koodo and you should get a 'registered' message on-screen.
I have a Koodo Phone. Paid for in full at a Koodo store, with a Koodo simcard and a number. I am on a monthly plan with Koodo and I am also having the same issue. I have never had this issue, and I have had this phone and activated since October.
Have you tried to remove/reinsert the SIM card as well as the battery (if removable)? It can make a difference.
If this issue is not resolved, I suggest that you visit a Koodo store (http://koo.do/IVOQTV) or call one of our techs by dialing 1-866-995-6636 (option #6) from a landline in order to have your phone available for a complete troubleshooting.
If you see a good answer, give it a star.
