I’m thinking of buying a certified pre owned iPhone 8 Plus but I’m worried about the quality. Are they hit and miss? They’re returns aren’t they? Are they worth the money or should I go with new? Thanks.

Heres a link the explain a lot about pre owned:
https://www.koodomobile.com/help/cert...

They are phones that have been used for 30 days or less (for whatever reason), the iPhones are backed by a 6 month warranty, and they only come in like new condition and are all tested to ensure they're in like new working order.

For me personally, I'd probably dish out the extra money for a new phone rather than a used one but if you are trying to save money and cant afford a brand new it's a really good option for sure.

It's likely a refurbished device. I don't think the 6month warranty is backed by Apple in this case, but I'm unsure.

I think if you Smash the screen or need a replacement, apple will complete the transaction with the typical fee, but I would suggest you double check this with apple

Refurbished devices are actually far more thoroughly tested than brand new devices.

For independent shoppers, using secondcell.ca and chubbiestech on US eBay worked well for me. Items were better than described. If you shop Amazon or eBay individual sellers, pay attention to individual vendor feedback. Not all refurbishers are the same.
