I am upgrading my phone using a 140$ tab, would I need to pay off the rest of the 10$ tab before I can purchase the new 150$ phone, i wasn't able to make the purchase online.
Under the description it mentions a gift card ""Only available with new activations on the Tab." what does this mean?

I also plan to change the name under the new phone, because it used to be under my parent's name but now I pay for it so should I do that before use the tab?

Thank you

Just have another question: it was a LG banter on a 30$ talk and text plan, and I plan to get the BBQ5,
on my LG banter I called an disabled the data because I was getting charged for data i didn't use, if data is disabled on the BBQ5, can you still use wifi, or would you need to have it enabled in order to use home wifi?

I have the BBQ 5 (I just felt like typing it that way) and I can say it's perfectly happy with having just home wifi. Compared to android it should use a lot less data because of the limited need for third-party apps, but you would for yourselfneed to figure out how much you need.

As for the giftcard, that is for new subscribers, and I'm afraid I don't know if it applies to existing users that are upgrading. However, since you also want to put it in your name; I'd recommend considering activating a new account in your name, and bringing your old number over. Number transfer automatically closes your old account (which should only cost the final month bill plus remainder of tab balance. I'd talk to a salesperson directly but it will make you eligible for new subscriber promotions, not cost more, and be simpler because changing the name requires a transfer of ownership.

Thanks, which plan are you using for your Q5?

BB10 devices use about as much data as Android devices (many BB10 apps are actually Android apps). I also don't understand what you mean by "limited need for third-party apps". Both OSs are quite robust and don't rely on 3rd party apps for added functionality.

Graham's suggestion to open an account in your name is the only way to get the promo gift card. Otherwise you won't be eligible. Keep in mind that you should not cancel yurt existing account first if you want to keep your current number. Once you request that your number be transferred, Koodo will close the other account. Do keep in mind that you will have to choose from one of the existing plans.

Hi there, the transfer of number as suggested will actually do not work. To change the name on the account, you must do a transfer of ownership. It costs $25 and you can keep your phone number and plan. The account will be under your name but you won't be eligible for the gift card promotion as it's not a new account. Thank you!

Hi, thanks for the responses. I'll be going to Koodo as soon as the phone arrives, and probably getting the pre-paid plan with added minutes and data (I couldn't find a monthly plan I liked) but I'll have to talk to the koodo rep about wether i can use the prepaid with boosters with the Q5.
