My son has a prepaid Huwaei phone and I have a Moto G 1st Gen phone on a monthly plan(no tab). I would like to upgrade my phone and give him my old one.  Can this be done?

Does your son's phone uses a micro sim card?  (I'm assuming he is a Koodo's prepaid customer)
Then he can take it out from his Huwaei phone and put it in to your Moto G. And restart Moto G and done.
If it's different size, he will need to buy a new sim card and upgrade/update sim card.

I just checked and sim card sizes are different.  Where can you purchase a new sim card?

You can buy it from Koodo store.
I would call a store(Retail partner) if they sell/have a prepaid Sim card before you heading out

Most retail partners do not carry prepaid SIMS. A new one will set you back $20. Deal with a Koodo boutique directly, and call ahead.

If you are putting a smaller SIM into a bigger slot, you may be able to use a carrier/adapter. Some independent places will also cut down a larger SIM to fit a smaller slot. May be less expensive and more convenient if there's no Koodo boutique near you.
