The network signal in Nolan Hill & Sage Hill of Calgary , AB is very poor. A lot of people lives these community but Koodo/Telus doesn’t have any tower there. The nearest tower is 2.5 km away from Nolan Hill. Can Koodo update us when there will be a tower at Nolan Hill / Sage Hill? Thanks in advance.

2.5km isn't very far at all. The closest cell tower to my house is about 7-8km away and I have 4 bars of service.
If anything the problem is the capacity of people using the tower. Are you currently with Koodo? Are you having trouble getting service?

I have only one to two bar outside my home and there is no connection in the basement. I am using iPhone X.

Meant to say 4-5km. The closest one is about 4.8km away from my house to be exact. And yes, I get 4 bars, -106dBm if you wanted to compare that way as "bars" is a terrible way of comparing one phone to another.

Basements are notoriously bad for getting a proper cell signal. Mostly because it's underground where it's hard for a cell signal to penetrate. You may want to consider a signal booster (like the one sold at best buy made by Wilson) if you will be spending a lot of time with your device in the basement.

@Allan, I think you could have used another tower that wasn't reported (or Bell tower) or there wasn't a lot of building near your house (i.e. you could see the tower from your room). I don't think at a distance of 4,5 kms you could get signals of 100dbm+

We've got some good towers in Atlantic Canada. ;)
Hahaha I don't know. I think it's a combination of capacity of people using the tower, the transponder power and the height of the tower.
There's a camp I go to that you can get service from and the closest tower is over 15km away.
Different cases I suppose. Something to look in to. Anyways, I'll stop here so I don't spam Akhtars thread.
