You cannot exchange your SIM card for a nano SIM. You will need to purchase a new nano-SIM fro Koodo for $10, then activate it on your account. You will then be able to use your iPhone with your telephone number.

Or you can cut it to smaller size

You can buy a nano sim at a Koodo location or online. If you are buying online, just choose Accessories and add to cart then check out

Not sure if this is true or not but I remember reading last year that on top of being smaller nano sims are actually thinner as well. If you're going to attempt to cut it as Darko suggested make sure you keep this in mind.

The thickness doesn't matter. I've taken my cutter with me to Europe this summer and was able to cut larger cards to nano.

Sounds good, I had no personal experience there so it's good to know that it doesn't matter!

Tbh if you cut the sim and you mess up you're now phone less until you buy a nano sim anyway. Also in rare cases you can actually damage your devices sim contacts if you do it wrong.

There will be users here who say don't worry about it and just cut it but speaking from personal experience it's not worth cutting the sim.

Should you decide to do it anyway, there are templates available online to help you and I would suggest you find and use them.

Yeah, but that old SIM may be useless to him/her in any case. So the worst case scenario is (s)he has to pay $10, which (s)he would have to do anyway.

I don't see the question the same. I think he's asking if he can activate hi new SIM card with self serve. The answer is yes. Look at the image below!
