Hello Yvon.

In order to buy a nano SIM card you would need to go in-store. I don't think you can only buy a SIM card.

Ok, I don't leave near a Koodo store, so I ask my sister in Ottawa to get one for me, she will send it me for christmas. Will my new iphone 6s plus 64 gb work with Koodo? The price of the nano simcard is $10?

I think it's 5$, but it coud be 10$. If the phone is bought from Apple, it should work!

Then I assure you it will work with Koodo and any other provider you want because the phone is unlocked. You can even put an European SIM card in it when you travel!

You can also buy the new SIM card from any # of Koodo retailers, like Best Buy, Wal Mart, Wow!, or Mobile Shop. Did you check the online store locator?

Hey Yvon! A SIM card costs indeed $5 at any of our kiosks or retailers http://koo.do/kdostore. When you purchase an iPhone directly from Apple, the phone is unlocked as they do not know which carrier you will use it with. However, as soon as you put in that first SIM card, your phone will get locked to that provider. To use it with another carrier after that, you will need to get it unlocked.

That's not always true. Typically Apple only uses those versions of the iPhone (SIM free) if you request a replacement device through AppleCare to use with your carrier. If you buy an initial one full price, they should issue a factory unlocked one that will stay that way.

I stand corrected! Although I can swear that it used to be this way, I confirmed with a friend working at Apple that any iPhone that is purchased FULL PRICE from the Apple store is unlocked and will remain unlocked. If a contract activation is done in store, then that iPhone will be locked to the carrier that it is activated with.
