My phone won't receive photos anymore. The model is SPH-M540.

Why does this keep happening? I can send them fine, but when my phone tries to download them the message is always "failed to receive". This is a pretty recent issue. I've had this phone for years without any problems.

Known issue with samsung cdma phones. Seems to have started around mid-december. Best thing to do is to call in and have a ticket logged by tech support. It takes a certain critical mass of trouble reports to pinpoint the cause of a problem though, so it may be a while before this gets resolved.

Just wanted to add: tech support will troubleshoot the problem before putting in the ticket. When testing whether the issue is fixed, the first picture message usually goes through, then the problem is back for the next message. Test it a few times.

Thanks! This is probably my best bet.

Make sure your data is enabled. Also, try unplugging the sim card and battery from your phone.

There is no data enable/disabled on CDMA phones.

I also don't have a data plan. But that shouldn't matter for SMS messages?

Picture messages are mms, not sms. They do use data. That's not why they aren't working though

On CDMA phones, it's a bit different as they aren't classified as data.
