Who did you get the call from? What if the scammers were actually calling you?

The sad news is, Boxer, you can't :(

It is probably some computer spammer who spoofs your number. In fact that has happened to my husband and I, we were getting very angry and even threatening calls back from people demanding us to stop spamming them... of course we never even called them in the first place.

In the end we had no choice but to change our number, thankfully it has never happened again. Sorry this has happened to you!

I know ive had this happen before as well. The sad thing is they can spoof anyones number, so even the new number will eventually be spoofed. I wish there was more that could be done, but im betting a bunch of the people aren't even in the same country.

You could consider changing your phone #. Just curious, who called you to give you this information, an organization? It could be fraudulent call.

I had a couple of calls from a stranger. He expalined that he had contacted by my number and knew from my accent it was not me. He had been offered various "deals" mostly overseas deals but was wise to the scam as he knew about a similar incident back in November that someone had told him about. he wanted to warn me so that i could put a stop to it and stop people being scammed who may not be aware
Looks like I will lose my number which is a pain but looks like i can do nothing until 10amEST tomorrow which is a real shame

Well Apparently it is happening again, I have had 3 or 4 different people call me and say they have a missed call from my number.  People I don't know.  I know nobody else called them because I have my phone with me all the time.

As previously stated, your options are to change your phone number or wait for the telemarketers to move on to a new batch of spoofed numbers. There is nothing koodo can do about it, as the companies who spoof numbers are located overseas where it is not illegal to do so.
