My Samsung Galaxy phone died after a year and a half(which I find is a short time for a new phone) I want my WhatsApp back!! I recently have had an LG phone that cannot receive WhatsApp, so my brother gave me his Samsung Galaxy2 phone as he got a new one. How do I transfer my information and programs onto it myself, do I first have to dump all of his info or can I keep some(like soundcloud etc)?

If you want to use your brother's phone, first ask yourself: Where did he get his phone?

If he got his phone from Koodo also or it is already unlocked, then skip this step. If he got it from another company, then it would be locked to that carrier. You will have to go online and find a place where they will unlock your device for you. After that, it will be compatible with Koodo.

Now, you want to restore the phone so it deletes all of you brother's old data. Then it will be like a new device and you can add in your SIM card (if it's the same size) and then use it like it is your own.

Once activated you should be able to log into your gmail account go to play store and hit options and my apps, it then should reinstall all your apps.
