To begin, have you tried turning the device on and off again?

If yes and that has not solved the issue, try checking for updates. On samsung devices, this can be done under settings --> more --> about device --> software update --> Update.

If you are up to date, check to make sure that your speaker settings don't have the sound muted for some reason (use the volume rocker to verify that). Also, check and make sure the mute has not accidentally be activated on your microphone.

If all of this fails, go to your nearest koodo mall location where they can most likely send out your phone for repairs under warranty (if you purchased it within the last year).

Hope this helps!

I had a similar problem once on my Galaxy S2X. It turned out to be an overly-sensitive earphone jack which "thought" the earbuds were still plugged in when they had been removed. If you've used your earbuds before this problem occurred, you might try inserting and removing them a few times to see if that fixes the problem.
