My usage in settings and the usage on the koodo app are completely different. Can I trust the koodo app?

Hi Paul,

Did you configure the usage to reset on your proper billing reset date? What does your usage report compared to Koodo?

Start off by going into self serve, go under view usage. Here you will see your bill cycle. Mine for example says "March 25, 2016 - April 24, 2016" This indicates that my usage restarts on the 25th. 

Now, on your phone go in settings, go in Data usage, and you will see the set cycle. Mine is properly configured so it shows "Mar 25 - Apr 24". Now since yours is more than likely incorrect, so tap on that and select "Change cycle". Here it will prompt you to enter when your usage cycle reset date is. That's where you enter the first day in your Koodo bill cycle, which for me is the 25th of the month. Tap on set. Now it will more closely show what Koodo reports in self serve.

Do note, that this only tracks that phone's usage. If you use various phones for example, it will be way off. Myself I used 3 different phones this cycle so my main device only shows 379mb out of 900mb that I have used this month. Make sure to keep an eye on your usage in self serve, and to keep an eye on your data notifications that Koodo sends you.

I haven't been able to find where my cycle is on the koodo app, just that there is 20 days left in it.I haven't gotten any data usage warnings so I should be fine. May just take it into a koodo store to be %100 sure. Thank you for your help!

Underneath "monthly bill" it says April 07-April 11, but that can't be correct...

The Koodo app doesn't show the cycle. It counts down number of days to end of the bill cycle. Your bill will actually reflect the cycle. You could also note when the app restarts the clock. Or count 20 days ahead.

It seems you sign up with Koodo on Apr 7.
And your billing cycle should be 12th of the month to 11th of the next month.

April 07-April 11 is prorated days.

You should only trust the Koodo app Paul. Your bills reflect usage based on that.
