Have you topped up your account?

You should still be seeing a signal strength reading even if you haven't topped up your prepaid account. If you see an 'x' beside the signal strength indicator or the message 'emergency calls only' you may need a new SIM card. If all that stuff is working, then Chad's comment is likely the cause.

I checked my imei and it is compatible with the sim. My phone just can't connect to any network. I wan't to top it up by calling like I used to do but when I cal it say Mobile network not available. Tried manually connecting to networks but it wont connect. So I just need to buy a new sim then but there's no x beside the signal indicator and yes it says emergency calls only but I can't call... Thnx for the response.

You're welcome Zidan. Okay, so if you don't see an 'x' there, you should be receiving signal, (bars). The 'emergency calls only' message means you can only make a call to 911 and no other calls. It also means that your phone cannot register itself on the network because of a possible defective SIM card or that you might be using a SIM card from a different carrier.

Just an observation, I noticed you have a red SIM card installed. I'm not aware of Koodo selling red prepaid SIM cards, though I have seen pink ones. Are you certain you have the correct SIM card installed?

Ah it's redish pink...  I guess it is pink. I don't know why it's defective sim because I never took it out. This phone says that it is compatible. It's a tellus phone. I used this sim in this phone before and it worked. I don't know why it stopped working suddenly. Is it possible that my baseband version is  not compatible with my phone that's why im not getting any connection?

How long was this sim inactive for? If it's been more than 90 days you'll need a new sim.

90 days so about 3 months... It might've expired then. Thnx for the help! I was out just a minute ago and there's no store open left that sell sim cards, bad luck.

So you mentioned unrooting... did you ever flash a new baseband (radio)? What baseband are you running now?
