my sim is now permanently locked after trying to set security for my phone now what ??????

You can simply just turn this feature off after turning it on. The default password is 1234 I believe.
Just to make sure, is this what you mean by locking your sim card?

too late after reset, it now says sim is invalid

Turns out that can happen with too many wrong attempts. Interesting stuff looking into it. Is it asking for a PUK code at all now or is all it saying that you have an invalid Sim? Most carriers sem to have it setup that if you lock your Sim card and get too many attempts wrong that you'll need a PUK code to get it unlocked at that point, and if that's entered wrong 10 time's then you will need a new Sim card.
