I bought a Samsung Galaxy S4 in May and am now having serious issues with it. It won't send texts from time to time. People aren't receiving my texts until days later and then all at once. It's freezing up while typing and now this morning it won't even let me shut down. It worked fine up until a week ago.
I know this is from a year ago but I am having the same problem only worse. I have had my s4 for 3 years and I broke the scree a week ago and it has worked fine but then it started stalling and glitching as-if I couldn't press any buttons and cant even turn it off. I just waited patiently then it turned off and then it kept turning on and off until I had to take the battery out. Then it wouldn't fully turn on and it would say Samsung s4 but the logo and sound wouldn't come on and the phone hasn't turned on since, I took it to the flea-market and they downloaded some software and fixed it and told me it could only be fixed temporarily and to turn it on after it has been fully charged. Instead of listening, like an idiot I turned it on at 0% and it was like it went right back to square one and keeps turning on and off. Yesterday it turned on for a few minutes which is a good sign, I need to decide on fixing it, replacing it and paying too much per month or getting a crappy phone and getting my laptop fixed instead. I need to restore and backup my phone too.
A second hand phone is always a risk unless you get it from a store of some sort, the flea market is a risk, all the places that can fix my phone all say they cant fix the phone and don't have the tools or parts, yet they can fix the motherboard and wipe it all out which is the most expensive and annoying way and easiest way for them. I will try staples. The phone just keeps turning on and off, if it was the lcd defibrillator or the motherboard then the screen wouldn't come on at all. It is most likely the battery, the charger port, the power button, the screen and a software issue for sure. One or two of those issues for sure if not all of them.
