My samsung galaxy phone (less than 2 years old) is now shutting off on its own in the middle of a text even though fully charged

Because the phone is over a year old it is unfortunately past it's warranty. Since It's been 2 years your tab should be paid off. You can view your tab info via self serve. If there is still a balance owing you can upgrade to a new phone pay off the balance at the store or charge it to your next invoice and start a brand new tab to get a brand new phone :). If you have a positive tab it will help you towards a new phone.
