The phone was paid for and thru Koodo in Quebec. My friend gave it to me since he ungraded. I purchased a new SIM Prepaid in Nova Scotia and it's asking me to get it unlock.

If your phone is asking for an unlock code for a Koodo sim Then it's either not originally a Koodo phone or there's something wrong with the Koodo sim.

After double checking with my friend. He was in fact with SOLO. Even it's a division of Bell like you guys, I bet that's why it's not working. Anything I can do? Can I get refunded?

So koodo is a division of Telus and not bell. Prepaid Sims and minutes aren't refundable. So I'd recommend getting your phone unlocked. What phone do you have?

That's the Galaxy Discover, I have one as well. Try eBay or UnlockBox.ca for a cheap unlock code, Guy.
