So for a couple weeks now my phone has been having issues with wifi. Randomly dropping saved connections, and even being stuck in "searching for connections". For a week straight it was stuck at "Turning on wifi." I finally got it working a couple days ago, but with the hitch that it now randomly reboots. As of last night the wifi has stopped working yet again and nothing I do has had any effect, although it still randomly reboots.

Some of the things I have tried:
  • Safe mode
  • Network settings reset (many times)
  • Factory reset (3 times)
  • Different batteries (3)
  • All the basic suggestions (turn off bluetooth, advanced wifi settings, wedge sim card and/or battery, etc).
  • Pretty much every other suggestion I can find on google, can't remember all of them off the top of my head though.

Any help would be appreciated. Would the sim card possibly be responsible for this (wondering as it is like the only thing I haven't been able to check yet)? You guys are my last resort before I deal with Koodo directly about a replacement (I have extended warranty but it has a tiny crack on the screen so I'd rather not pay, plus I need my phone for work so going without it until I'm sent a new one is not desireable).

I can provide other information if you need it.

Honestly, if you have tried all that to no avail, it's most likely a hardware issue. If you have warranty, I would look into it.

Yea that's pretty much what I was thinking too. Just figured I'd ask here on the off chance someone else would be like "Oh I had that problem too! Here is how I fixed it."

I would bring it to a Koodo Shop and ask for a free Phone Check-up, they'll do a diagnosis on your phone and they can send your phone for repair. I would back it up before going just in-case. By any chance, are you aware of any physical or water damage? and when the phone was purchased?

Ok I'll do that next time I can (live in a small town without one). No water damage but it does have a small crack on the screen and some chips on the body. Nothing that affected the phone and all happened seperate from this issue, if that matters at all? Purchased around a year ago I think, perhaps a bit more but no less.

Those small cracks in the screen and on the body can translate into major damage inside you may have broken the Wi-Fi antenna which would explain what the problem is that your having I would definitely look into my warranty service but physical damage is not covered but good luck

Hey Andrew,

If there is any physical damage, it voids the 1 year limited manufacturers warranty. Do you remember if you have the Koodo Phone Protection? If you do, you don't even have to worry about visiting a Koodo Shop, you can call in to Asurion and get a replacement delivered to your mailing address the next day, as long as you call in before 3PM on a weekday. If you don't have the Koodo Phone Protection, it is a good investment the next time you upgrade.

I hope this helps and good luck.

Then it is indeed. I believe you have to go through Asurion. Their turnaround is quick. Next day to your door (new device) if you call before 3pm.

That sounds great Andrew, the next step is to contact Asurion by calling 1-844-574-1839 or going to phoneclaim.com/koodo. Keep in mind there is either a $49 or $79 service fee depending when you activated the extended warranty. They will let you know which fee applies to you.

Good luck! If you call them Sunday, your replacement phone will be dispatched Monday and will arrive to you Tuesday. You will have 15 days to drop off your old phone and will come with a prepaid shipping label.

Well that's a great way of doing it! I was expecting to have to send my phone away for a couple weeks before I got a replacement! And thanks for the number, that makes things easier.

Thanks again and enjoy your day! :)
