I currently have a no-tab BYOD plan. I do however have a $40/month no-tab plan. I want to take advantage of a current offer on a phone, $0 upfront on a small tab (then $240 on tab, $10/month). But in the details of the offer it says "Must upgrade on a tab to redeem this offer". Does that mean I have to change my plan? Or do I keep my current plan, since I am paying $40/month, and just pay the tab charge extra per month? I would like to know before I place an order for the phone because its an online only offer. Thank you. (I plan to pay the tab off after 90 days, so would like to not have to change plans, and then change plans again when tab is paid off).

You can keep your plan without issue. Worst case if it won't let you, you might have to call in 611 or send a private message to Koodo on their Facebook page.

So if I do have to call in, would they simply change my plan back? My concern, I didn't elaborate before, is that I got my plan during a "double the data" promo, which right now isn't on, so I would lose half my data if I had to change plans.

It would be more like to get it without having to change your plan just in case the system doesn't allow you to. Some people have uncommonly reported issues with older plans but if your is a very recent one then I wouldn't worry.

Based on what you shared above GTA Junkie (you are a BYOD customer), you will not have to change plans and can certainly keep what you are on. Tab small has virtually no rate plan restrictions. It's only when we provide customers with a greater amount of "loan" or Tab that certain plans have to be selected. For example Tab Large is only available with Tab Large suite of plans as per what is shown on our website. Hope this makes sense!
