Multiple Issues with Samsung Galaxy Grand Prime

I purchased (or put on my tab) a Samsung Galaxy Grand Prime when I signed up with Koodo in March 2016.

For the most part it works well enough but I have had a couple of issues with it.

First regarding texts; I sometimes will send texts and they show as sent on my phone but later I discover the intended recipient did not get them. This has happened on at least 2 occasions, and the reverse has happened where someone has sent me texts and I have not received them.

Second, more recently, I play Pokemon Go. It is very frustrating that I can only start the game up on a WiFi network. I can continue to play the game via my data as I move away from a WiFi source but if the game crashes or I close it for whatever reason, I can't start it back up until I'm on a WiFi network again, which severely limits my ability to play the game.

For these reasons I'd like to get a better phone. Am I able to trade in my existing phone along with the tab balance I have (-$95) to get a newer (and hopefully functional) phone or do I have to pay off my tab before I upgrade?

You must pay off the old tab before you can get a new phone.

When playing for myself, when i go from WiFi to Data, the game freezes up and sometimes i must re load as well. But does not happen on wifi. Its because your losing a connection for a section while it switches to the other. But in your situation you cant open it back up which I do not know a solution to resolve, try googling that.

You can go to self serve, request to pay it off and your tab balance is put on your next bill. The minute you click pay tab, your actually able to upgrade and order a new phone right away. So your not forced to wait until you pay your next bill

eBay.ca shows Grand Prime having been sold for $40-$120 depending on condition. Gives you an idea of what you could sell it for on Kijiji. You might get lucky and break even with the tab you owe.

Costs you nothing to advertise it. You don't have to clear your tab before selling, but will have to pay it off before starting a new tab.

In regards to a pokemon go, i had the same issue as well. Do you by any chance have background data disabled? In my case I forgot that I had disabled background data on Google play services and couldn't connect to the Google account I used for pokemon go on data. Once I figured out the issue a Pokémon go starting working perfecly.

I found this solution on my second round of Googlification. Thanks for posting it here though!

Just be careful you don't get a lot of unneeded updates shovelled out to you while you are paying for mobile data. Make sure the auto-update for apps is selected for wifi only in your PlayStore settings.

I myself, have a Grand Prime and I hate it!! I have videos of my grandson when he was born that I am unable to view and not to mention dropping calls. Screen will go black and vibrate 1 minute or so after. Worst phone ever!  Not to mention the run around I have been getting all weekend, and the managers I have spoke to that were rude.
